Plant Image Science is the official English-language journal of the Korean Society of Plant Image Science (https://plantimage.or.kr/), launched in 2025 and published online on a continuous basis. This journal serves as an academic platform to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration among researchers, educators, and professionals in the fields of plant image science and phenomics. Its aims and scope include the following:

Promoting the sharing of research findings, technologies, and information in plant image science and phenomics

The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, technical reports, and perspectives across a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

Imaging technologies for plant phenotyping (e.g., hyperspectral imaging, thermal imaging, 3D imaging, LiDAR, etc.)
High-throughput image-based analysis systems and automation technologies
AI and machine learning approaches for trait extraction and data interpretation
Applied studies in precision agriculture, plant growth monitoring, and pest/disease detection
Integrated analyses combining phenomic data with genomic and environmental data
Case studies on educational applications, industrial technologies, and field deployments

All submitted manuscripts are subject to rigorous peer review, and the journal adheres to international standards of research ethics.

Plant Image Science is published entirely in English and operates under an open access model, providing unrestricted access to all content for readers worldwide. The journal is currently preparing for inclusion in major indexing databases such as Scopus, DOAJ, and KCI.
